Which is the best way to treat an ear infection?

A New York City physician has developed a vaccine that could treat an estimated one million ear infections every year.
The new vaccine is based on a bacterium that causes a rare ear infection called Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
In people, the bacterium lives in the nose and throat, but in some people, it also lives in skin, flesh and mucous membranes, the New York Times reported.
The vaccine is called EVM-2.
The drug is currently in clinical trials for patients with multiple sclerosis and is being tested on healthy people, according to a company news release.
The drug is also being tested in people with tuberculosis and other infections.
The vaccine is being developed in collaboration with the Vaccine Center at the University of California, San Francisco.
The researchers say the vaccine could be available by 2021.
