Florence – Juventus: A 3-2 win over Udinese
Florentino Pérez has announced his side have secured a place in the Europa League, defeating Udinese 3-0 in the second leg of their semi-final.
The visitors had won all three legs and were chasing a Champions League place after they beat Athletic Bilbao in the final of the Serie A last season.
Pévez said the draw for next week’s final was a great result.
“I’m very happy.
We have achieved everything.
I’m proud of the team and I think that the fans are happy, too,” he said.
“We have a great team.
This is a good result for the fans.”
Udinese, who have never made it past the Europa league, are one of the most difficult teams in the league to beat.
Juventus have won six of their last nine, including last season’s final, but Péquez has been forced to change tactics, switching to a 3-4-3 system.
The result means he faces Juventus in Turin, with his side likely to be without injured forward Mauro Icardi.
Pésrez said he had to be careful with Icardii, who suffered a hamstring injury in the last minute of the 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Tuesday.
“He will not play tomorrow.
The injury is a serious one.
It is not too bad,” he added.
“The only player we have injured is Mauro, who has to be out for a long time.”
